examine – My dentist says I brush my teeth too hard. You’ve been telling me that for years. I tried using a softer toothbrush bristle, but my teeth never felt clean. As a result, I went with an electric toothbrush. It was a very cheap product that my wife found on Amazon. It was okay. The dentist said my gums were feeling better, but the hygienist still had to scrape my teeth more than I wanted. So when the Rypen Wave electric toothbrush came out, I was eager to try something better than what I was using now. In other words, it is an electric toothbrush. How much better could it be? Well, let’s talk about it.
What is that?
The Laifen Wave is an electric toothbrush that oscillates and vibrates with three finishes and three types of brush heads to clean your teeth.

Design and Features
To solve these problems, the Laifen Wave electric toothbrush is available in three finishes. There is one in ABS plastic, one in aluminum alloy and one in stainless steel. I got the ABS version and it’s perfectly fine. It looks a lot better than what I’m currently using, but it’s not as good as my kids’ torture device of choice. Rypen uses nano-molding technology for its electric toothbrushes, a process commonly used for flagship smartphones. This process forms a solid bond between the outer shell and the inner structure, ensuring exceptional stability and durability.” I can attest that the Wave feels quite luxurious in the hand. The keys feel good and the body feels pretty good. The seam you see in the picture below is a sticker with instructions to get started. Once removed, it becomes smooth as glass. The button is pressure sensitive, using an optical sensor that detects pressure and distance to activate the Wave.
The Laifen Wave electric toothbrush has three brushing modes and can connect to the Laifen app on your phone. This app provides the ability to change the brushing intensity via Bluetooth to make your teeth brush faster or slower. I’d love to show you some pictures of it in action, but the app isn’t working properly and can no longer connect properly to the toothbrush. Do I need this information to use Wave? no. It works fine without it. I played around with it when I first got the toothbrush, but the default setting in Mode 1 is powerful enough. You can also switch modes on the brush itself.
And because it uses Bluetooth, airplane mode is also possible.
To charge the Laifen Wave electric toothbrush, it comes with a nice braided magnetic USB cable.
The problem I see here is that if your cable stops working, you can’t go to your local department store and buy another cable. You must order directly from Laifen and it is not currently available on the Laifen website. Still, it’s nice that you don’t have to line up anything perfectly to charge it. Get close enough and the magnet will take care of it. The only thing I don’t like is that the charging contacts are on the bottom of the Wave, so you have to lay it on its side to charge it.
As mentioned earlier, the Rypen Wave comes with three different brush heads.
The blue one is super clean and is what I decided to use. The gray one is softer than the other two for gum care, and the purple one is the hardest for whitening. These heads appear to be exclusive, but I’m not sure. The other head I used on my previous toothbrush had a shaft hole that was too large to fit. Here’s a shot of the Wave’s shaft for reference.
Performance
I love the Rypen Wave electric toothbrush. I always hear and read how different brands of toothbrushes make dentists feel bad, but the ones I used always fell short. The Laifen Wave features a powerful motor that allows the brush to oscillate at a 60-degree angle while delivering up to 66,000 oscillations per minute. Battery life was also excellent. I’ve been using it for almost a month now and haven’t needed to recharge it since I first charged it when I first bought it. Laifen says the Wave’s water resistance rating is IPX7, which seems good since toothbrush and water are important factors. Gray and blue bristles work well. I switched to blue because the gray felt very soft and was already starting to age me. I’ll probably avoid the purple one since it seems to be the stiffest and I’m already getting frowned upon by my dentist for brushing my teeth too hard. Speaking of replacements, when I first got my Laifen Wave there were no replacements on their site. All right. Since it was a new product, all preparations for launch were still in full swing. You can buy them now, and amazingly, they’re only $9.99 for a three-pack. I’ve included a video with some in slow motion to give you an idea of what it looks like. Like while using it.
What I like about the Rypen Wave electric toothbrush
- Excellent build quality
- Various configurable usage modes
- cheap replacement heads
- long battery life
- powerful motor
- vibration and vibration
What needs to be improved?
- proprietary charging cable
- Charging contact at the bottom
final thoughts
Anyone in the market for an electric toothbrush should take a closer look at the Laifen Wave. The price is much cheaper than other places. It also cleans your teeth better than any other product you’ve used in the past. Head replacement costs are also low. I will continue to use the Laifen Wave for the foreseeable future and plan to purchase more heads for it. I’m going on a long journey with this. Now you have to wait for your next dental appointment to see if your dentist approves.
