If you want read studio ghibli movies, My Neighbor Totoro Movie Cartoon All-in-one Edition The series is out now. This 584-page hardcover omnibus, available on Amazon for $27 (originally $30), collects all six My Neighbor Totoro trade paperback comics, some of which are hard to find these days at relatively low prices. Even if you buy all six at full price ($10 each) from an authorized retailer, you’ll still be paying more than twice as much for the My Neighbor Totoro All-in-One Edition.
A hardcover omnibus version is also available for pre-order. Kiki’s Delivery Service Movie Cartoon, It will be released on October 22nd. Spirited Away Movie CartoonIt is scheduled for January 28, 2025. Single volumes of these works are much harder to find, especially Spirited Away, which was released theatrically in 2001 and remains the highest-grossing film in Studio Ghibli’s catalog. Spirited Away became the first Japanese animated film to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and was the only Oscar winner in that category until Studio Ghibli’s The Boy and the Heron won earlier this year.
This graphic novel is notable because it uses original film animation cells for its illustrations. They have all been rearranged and re-imagined to look like comic book and manga panels, and the results are surprisingly effective. Spirited Away is 864 pages in total, while My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service are 584 pages each. I hope Howl’s Moving Castle, which also has a film manga series, gets an All-In-One treatment next.
If you’re a fan of the art direction of Studio Ghibli films, this book is a great way to “pause” the film and focus on the small details of the beautifully animated story. Since the manga uses original cels and illustrations from the films, it can also be considered a really affordable art book. The recommended age range varies from book to book. My Neighbor Totoro is for ages 8-11, while Kiki’s Delivery Service is for ages 11-14. Spirited Away doesn’t have an age range listed yet, but the manga was written for ages 9 and up when the series first came out in 2002.
