This year Finobate Europe (February 27-28) I will be interviewing 15 fintech entrepreneurs, CEOs, analysts, authors and thought leaders about what the most important topics and trends are in fintech and financial services. Here’s a preview of the people I’ll be talking to, notes on what they’ll be presenting at FinovateEurope, and questions I’ll be asking them next week.

Anette Broløs – Director and Founder of Finthropology
Anette will be part of the Wednesday afternoon Power panel: From open banking to open finance – how can banks capture revenue-generating opportunities?
Let’s ask Anette about the challenges financial institutions face as they try to become more customer-centric. We’ll also discuss her new book. Customer-centered financial innovationexplains how to turn human insights into product innovation.
Nina Schick, author, generative AI expert, and founder of Tamang Ventures
Nina will be giving the following basic keynote address on Tuesday morning: Will AI be more profound than the invention of the Internet? What do financial institutions really need to understand about generative AI?
I am looking forward to learning more about what financial services need to know to de-risk the adoption of enabling technologies such as AI. I’m also curious what other implementation technologies Nina thinks should be on our radar.
Indrek Vainu, Head of Conversational AI, Zurich Insurance Company
Indrek will be part of the Wednesday afternoon power panel: AI in action and real-world user stories: How smart players are using AI to solve customer and business pain points. He will also deliver a keynote address – How Financial Institutions Are Leveraging the Generative AI Era – Part of an invitation-only session for financial institutions on Monday evening.
In a conversation at FinovateEurope, we’d like to hear from Indrek and his team about the challenges they face while implementing generative AI applications at their company. What lessons and insights can you share with other financial services embarking on their AI journey?
Ville Sointu, Chief Digital Currency Strategist at Nordea
Ville will be part of the power panel Wednesday afternoon: Digital payments are taking over the world. How will new competitors and new business models shape the future?
We would like to find out through Ville how embedded payments are spreading across Europe. I am also curious about his interest in the super app mentioned last year. How could the emergence of super apps affect the payment environment?

He will also deliver a special fireside chat: Escalating geopolitical risk – what does this mean for banks and their customers? Part of an invitation-only session for financial institutions on Monday evening.
Always a fascinating interview, Manas will have a lot to say about the many geopolitical issues that are dominating the headlines in 2024. From Europe to Asia, the Middle East, and the U.S. border, these various crises are impacting banks, fintechs, and financial services companies? I’d like to hear Manas talk about all this on FinovateEurope next week.

With this in mind, we’re looking forward to a chat about payments with Stephen Hutchinson, Head of Operations at IFX Payments.

We will also ask questions about the regulatory risks of open banking and open finance and what institutions need to know to address these issues.

Edwin will be participating in a power panel Wednesday morning: Discovering new opportunities through digital transformation – Success stories and insights to help financial institutions find growth, drive revenue, and future-proof their businesses.
