LinkedIn is testing a new feed of vertical videos similar to TikTok. The feature has not been announced publicly, but has been spotted by users in recent days and the company is testing it. Tech Crunch.
According to a video shared by Instagram employee Jenny Eishingdrelo and a video posted by influencer marketing executive Austin Null, the new feed will appear in a separate “Videos” tab in the LinkedIn app. Users can move between clips by scrolling vertically, like TikTok or Instagram Reels.
This isn’t the first time the company has adopted a trendy format. LinkedIn has previously experimented with disappearing posts. The feature lasted a year, but at the time the professional network said its video experiment wasn’t complete and that it was “working to evolve the Stories format into a reimagined video experience across LinkedIn.”
Perhaps LinkedIn expects the feed to feature content from professional creators and thought leaders who are already posting videos to the feed. However, it’s unclear how many site users would be interested in a dedicated video feed for workplace-related content.
