I’m hanging out on a Discord run by a YouTuber called SwitchStars. I’ve mentioned him quite a bit on this site. Anyway, yesterday on Discord he mentioned the following in response to a Swords and Adventures review applicable to Line Color World:
Line Color World looks like your baby’s first video game. There is a road lined with traps. Press A to move along, leaving a colored line behind. Do not press A to stop. Completing each stage is just a matter of timing. Honestly, it reminds me of a falling elevator. I liked Falling Elevator better than this. Yes, I liked Midnight Works studio’s title better than this one. Here’s the text from the eShop:
Embark on a tranquil yet fascinating journey through Line Color World, a unique blend of challenge and relaxation.
Well… if you’re tired, you don’t rest. And the boy is taking on the challenge of Line Color World. Getting through stage 2 took much longer than expected. I gave up on step 3 and went to write this review. It’s as if the game wasn’t balanced with the playtests. I just ran out the door. Aside from the challenges, the screen flickering for no reason is really noticeable in stage 3. Did anyone supervise this? It wasn’t ready to see the light of day yet, and it wasn’t supposed to be released.
Line Color World looks like a game jam project picked up by Halva Studio and rushed out the door, selling for $2.99. Games should be free. It’s horrible and I was scammed when I paid for it. There isn’t much to say about this game. Again, if Midnight Works makes a better game, you’re really screwed. The game gets a trash verdict with a backend score of 2 (at least aesthetically it’s decent).
Overall: Line Color World was someone’s first game that sold for $3. It’s absolute garbage.
verdict: trash
