Just like in real life, fire is deadly. Helldiver 2. But frustrated players complained that it was too lethal. Developer Arrowhead Game Studios agrees, as they plan to introduce a fix for this.
above Helldiver 2 In the Discord channel (found on PCGamesN), Arrowhead’s community manager Twinbeard directly responded to criticism about how fire works. It can be frustrating enough when a sudden fire tornado randomly spawns and takes you away, but just touching an ember can kill you quickly.
Twinbeard admits this is “silly, or at least wrong.” That’s why Arrowhead is “looking at the entire fire system, including DPS (damage per second), DOT (damage over time), host objects, undying, etc. You can just touch it in two seconds…” Twinbeard says There’s no telling when the fix will arrive, only that it will be done “partially,” meaning the way Fire works will be updated over time rather than fixed in a single patch.
Presumably these fixes will apply to both the flame tornadoes and flamethrowers used by some of the Automaton’s Hulk units. It would be nice if these were made less destructive, but I don’t think Arrowhead would nerf them too much. Fires still need to pose some kind of threat. A new armor type that offers some fire resistance would be a nice addition and could get a warm response from players, but Twinbeard hasn’t mentioned adding any new content to counter fire damage.
Hopefully the aforementioned fixes will be released soon, though. Helldiver 2 There are other issues currently being reviewed by the studio. For example, the new Ground Breaker armor was added to the game with the wrong passive, and none of the new ship module upgrades work properly. Helldiver 2 has been plagued by bugs and other glitches since launch, but it’s clearly doing something right to remain incredibly popular.
