Bigger displays, thinner bodies, etc.
Aside from the camera redesign, the leaked renders also indicate that the Pixel Fold 2 will feature a larger display. The internal display is expected to be 7.9 inches (7.6 inches in the first generation), and the cover screen is expected to grow from 5.8 inches to 6.4 inches.
The second-generation foldable device measures 5.27mm when unfolded and 10.54mm when folded, making it look slimmer than the existing Pixel Fold, which was 5.8mm thick when unfolded and 12.1mm when folded.
Other details in the render include a hole-punch camera on the internal display and a USB-C port, speaker grille, microphone, and SIM tray on the bottom of the device. On the right are the power and volume buttons. Smartprix suggests that the Pixel Fold 2 could come with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
However, it’s still unclear whether the Pixel Fold 2 will feature Google’s Tensor G3 chipset (or an upgraded G4). The inclusion of the G4 chipset will likely push the expected release date from May to the end of the year, as Rahman mentioned.
