eBills are gaining popularity and are being used more and more frequently. This week Switzerland’s eBill announced its 3 million milestone.
The largest user group is those aged 30 to 39, with the largest increase at 15% among those aged 65 and older. Therefore, older people are increasingly engaging in digital payment transactions. Overall, more than 40% of 15-89 year olds in Switzerland use eBill. More than half of Swiss households now receive this service.
With eBill, you receive the invoice from wherever the payment was made (e-banking). If they don’t want to receive bills by mail or email, consumers can log in to their bank’s e-banking, activate eBill, and then view and pay their bills with just a few clicks. This provides benefits to both consumers and businesses.
95% of Swiss financial institutions provide and actively promote Bill. Many billers already use digital invoicing, including major telecommunications providers, health insurance companies, energy providers, utilities, and credit card providers. More and more small and medium-sized businesses are using eBills.
