Gameloft, the studio behind Disney’s Dreamlight Valley, has announced that it will be working with Wizards of the Coast to create a new Dungeons & Dragons game. It’s being developed for both consoles and PC, and Gameloft describes it as “an innovative hybrid of survival, life sim, and action RPG.”
Disney Dreamlight Valley is a popular choice in the life simulation genre, mixing fun gameplay, unique customization, and Disney into a package that players will really enjoy. It launched in Early Access in 2022 before the full version launches in December. All of this means that if you’re a fan of Disney Dreamlight Valley and Dungeons & Dragons, there’s a new game to keep an eye out for.
Currently untitled, Gameloft revealed on Instagram that the game is set in the mythical Forgotten Realms, the D&D setting of Baldur’s Gate 3. The game is a mix of survival, life simulation, and action RPG elements. One will feature “unique co-op gameplay,” the studio says.
“Players can look forward to an adventure where the wealth of lore from this legendary franchise meets real-time strategy in a unique campaign that blends resilience, camaraderie, and danger at nearly every turn.”
There is no project name and no release period. Gameloft is currently hiring for this project.
News of this D&D game comes about a year after Wizards of the Coast, which owns the D&D IP and is a subsidiary of Hasbro, canceled five games without notice. The last D&D game released was Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, released in 2021. – read Game Informer’s Review it here.
