Converse has formed a partnership. dungeons and dragons To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary tabletop franchise, we’re introducing a new collection of shoes and other gear that will be available online starting April 11th. For those of you attending this year’s Gary Con, the popular Dungeons & Dragons fan event honoring co-creator Gary Gygax, you’ll find it there on March 21st.
Converse’s new product demonstrates a clear understanding of the challenge. Explore designs inspired by and incorporating details from the first editions of D&D’s Player’s Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master’s Guide.
Naturally, the collection includes limited edition “Chuck 70” style canvas and leather high-top sneakers. Two leather high-top designs feature alternate versions of the Chuck Taylor All-Star logo and are instead designed to resemble the D20. The canvas design includes fun details like illustrations of Kelek the wizard, Warduke the warrior, and Zarak the assassin from the 1980s D&D action figures.
Some of our patterns, illustrations and other unique elements have been ported over to Converse By You so you can apply them to your own custom clothing designs. Best of all, the box these high-tops arrive in has been lovingly transformed into a Mimic.
In addition to the special edition high-tops, Converse’s D&D collection includes three types of trucker hats, shorts, sweatshirts, and T-shirts. The hat and shorts feature the devil’s face found on the cover of the first edition Player’s Guide. Advanced Dungeons & DragonsBut my personal favorite is the lime green t-shirt that features a gelatin cube consuming the Chuck Taylor logo.
Converse hasn’t released pricing information for the collection yet, but as someone who wore Chuck Taylors to a wedding, I can’t wait to pick up a pair.
