The time is now and the BAFTA Television Awards 2024 nominees are here, with twelve of the bakery’s selections chosen by the Apple TV Plus streaming service. How many people will win? You’ll have to wait until the awards are shared on Sunday, April 28th.
Apple is no stranger to being nominated for or winning awards. But it’s always interesting to see which shows, documentaries, and movies get recognition within the industry. In this case, Apple TV Plus proved popular in a variety of categories, including Best Drama Series, Best Entertainment, and Best Professional Drama, while some individual nominations were also found in Supporting Actress, Editing: Fiction, and Makeup and Design. Among the nominees are huge hits such as Gary Oldman’s Slow Horses and the popular Silo show, while The Enfield Poltergeist and Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas were also mentioned.
Will there be an award?
In a press release announcing the possible nominations, BAFTA noted: “Seventeen of the 44 nominees in the Performance category are nominated for the BAFTA Television Awards for the first time.”
Nominations are made up of 47 categories that “recognize outstanding achievements, craftsmanship and stories broadcast from January 1 to December 31, 2023.”

Hannah Waddingham: A Home for Christmas
The Ted Lasso star presented Apple TV Plus’ annual Christmas show and earned a single nomination in the entertainment category.
Discussing the nomination, BAFTA Char Sara Putt paid tribute to those involved.

Of the most nominated works, eight went to The Crown and seven went to the Demon 79 episode of Netflix’s Black Mirror. Slow Horses joins HBO hits The Last of Us, Succession and The Long Shadow in sixth place.
