OnePlus is the latest company to jump on the AI train. The phone maker is launching a new photo editing tool called AI Eraser that will allow users to remove unwanted objects from their photos. The new feature is available on various OnePlus smartphones, including the OnePlus 12 and 12R, the OnePlus 11, and the OnePlus Open.
To use the OnePlus AI Eraser, you first need to highlight the part of the image that needs to be removed. These can be random people, dirty trash cans, or just “imperfections” in the photo. The AI will then analyze that area and create a background that OnePlus claims will blend in with the existing image. If this sounds familiar, it basically works the same as Adobe’s Generative Fill and Google’s Magic Eraser tools.
However, this is a new venture from OnePlus that uses proprietary LLM to power AI Eraser. “AI Eraser, OnePlus’ first feature based on generative AI technology, is part of our vision to liberate users’ creativity through AI and revolutionize the future of photo editing, empowering users to create amazing photos with just a few touches. It represents the first step.” Kinder Liu, President and COO of OnePlus, said in a statement. “This year we plan to introduce more AI features, which will be released soon.”
