Sony’s new entry-level CH-720N noise-canceling headphones came out this year and are pretty good, but if you can’t afford them (they retail for $150), the company’s new budget on-ear CH-520 headphones are an interesting option for the price. It usually sells for around $60, but is currently selling for less than $40.
They lack noise-cancelling and don’t have a lot of features, but they sound good for the price, are lightweight, very comfortable for on-ear headphones, and have excellent battery life. It can be used up to 50 hours in medium mode. Volume level. It also features multi-point Bluetooth pairing, so you can pair with two devices (e.g. smartphone and computer) simultaneously and switch audio. Voice call performance isn’t quite up to what you get with the CH-720N, but it’s okay.
There is no wired option. These are wireless Bluetooth-only headphones. The CH-520 offers an overall balanced sound and adequate clarity. The bass has a bit of punch, but it’s not thunderous, and you don’t get as wide a soundstage as Sony’s more expensive over-ear headphones. But this product definitely sounds better than Sony’s previous entry-level on-ear headphones, and better than I expected. I used the white color, but there are also blue and black.
